But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Tafalla couldn't finish the play. Ferruccio Terrasi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Dante Lacasa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vandalino made a substitution. Biagio Caniglia replaced Emilio Moriggi. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Attilio Sanna to make the kick off. In the 88th minute, Alberto Tafalla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 89th minute, Dario Uguccioni ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dante Lacasa was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alberto Tafalla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Octav Alexa made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. When Mexico's Alberto Tafalla in the 95th minute got a chance for a shot 95th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vandalino's goalie prevented a goal.
