Bize Heryer Trabzon's Stuart Heywood suffered a sore thigh after 18 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Jorge Sainz charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jorge Sainz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bilge Baykal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joaquin Gayoso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Nejat Taykurt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 32nd minute of the match. Jorge Sainz made in the 33rd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Camilo Franco however managed to control. 38 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Bilge Baykal came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bize Heryer Trabzon's Nejat Taykurt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Bize Heryer Trabzon from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Uruguay booed when Bize Heryer Trabzon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adilson de Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. 42 minutes into the match, Bize Heryer Trabzon's goalkeeper Nejat Taykurt had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Francisco Seco. Francisco Seco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Nejat Taykurt made a huge save. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Francisco Seco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Cosimo Ianni fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bize Heryer Trabzon's protests and gave Cosimo Ianni a yellow card for diving instead. Bize Heryer Trabzon:s Nejat Taykurt showed great skill when he stopped Jaime Cazalla:s penalty. Jaime Cazalla scored 1-0 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nejat Taykurt, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Francisco Seco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nejat Taykurt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Francisco Seco kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Joaquin Gayoso was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Bilge Baykal showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 67 minute of play. The Uruguay fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. When the match had gone on for 84 minutes, Teobald Betonowy took a quick shot and it went in 2-3 without a chance for Joaquin Gayoso to make any attempt to save it. Nejat Taykurt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Nejat Taykurt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Seco in the 91st minute of play. Teobald Betonowy charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Teobald Betonowy the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Teobald Betonowy hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Bize Heryer Trabzon's Bilge Baykal got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Francisco Seco took the ball and in the 98 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nejat Taykurt. Nejat Taykurt dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-3. Uruguay were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
