In the 18th minute, Ernso Constant got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 21 minutes, Gugu Tasso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Proteu and the Haiti players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 21 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Proteu! Edmundo Gomes had in the 22ndth minute some difficulties stopping Jonathan Alphonse's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Noel Seide showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silvinho de Castro, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Haiti's Noel Seide played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vânderson Godoi in the 26th minute of play. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice moves Jonathan Alphonse could shoot a difficult shot in the 38th minute, which Edmundo Gomes however easily saved by the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Ernso Constant managed to get in a good position for a shot. Haiti's supporters rose to their feet, but Ernso Constant was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edmundo Gomes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Ernso Constant recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Raymond Louis's late challenge caught a Proteu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Raymond Louis helped the player get up and apologised. In the 57th match minute, Haiti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raymond Louis to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Jonathan Alphonse managed to get in a good position for a shot. Haiti's supporters rose to their feet, but Jonathan Alphonse was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edmundo Gomes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ernso Constant received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Edmundo Gomes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 83 played minutes Proteu got a freekick which was hit by André Luiz Tasso. 84 minutes into the match, Haiti's Jonathan Alphonse sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edmundo Gomes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Philippe Ambroise fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmundo Gomes having to interfere. Ernso Constant might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edmundo Gomes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ernso Constant ran back to his position shaking his head. Edmundo Gomes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernso Constant in the 91st minute of the match. 92 minutes into the match, Proteu's goal looked a bit too open when Philippe Ambroise came free, but Edmundo Gomes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Ernso Constant came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Haiti fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ernso Constant couldn't finish the play. Ernso Constant received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Edmundo Gomes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
