Joaquin Gayoso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for LIGHTNING. After a defensive mix-up in Uruguay's zone, 邱悦弘 stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal and 邱悦弘 tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 25th minute, Camilo Franco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Agesilaus Michalaras showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 28th minute Uruguay were awarded a corner. Jaime Cazalla went to the cornerflag to take it. Uruguay's Jaime Cazalla was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Agesilaus Michalaras in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 30 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Stepan Bandera. If Jaime Cazalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If 邱悦弘 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joaquin Gayoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ilixo Abeita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Agesilaus Michalaras showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Seco in the 37th minute of the match. Maximiliano Escribano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 39th minute 邱悦弘 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 邱悦弘 fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Gayoso having to interfere. 44 minutes into the match, 邱悦弘 had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. Uruguay's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that 邱悦弘 was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Danail Antonov's late challenge caught a Uruguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Danail Antonov helped the player get up and apologised. LIGHTNING's Agesilaus Michalaras played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Seco in the 52nd minute of play. After 53 minutes of play, LIGHTNING's Stepan Bandera made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joaquin Gayoso was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Maximiliano Escribano got a free kick in the 66th minute. In the 66thth minute of the game 邱悦弘 who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Maximiliano Escribano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maximiliano Escribano might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Agesilaus Michalaras. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Maximiliano Escribano ran back to his position shaking his head. Maximiliano Escribano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Agesilaus Michalaras tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stoil Durev's late challenge caught a Uruguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 95th match minute, LIGHTNING was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricardo Carvalho to maneuver through the defense.
