Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tivadar Sörös, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match clock showed 19 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Bendegúz Ördög sped through Costa Rica's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. In the 24th minute, Elemér Dragóner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 72nd minute, Aaron Alcocer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Through an outstanding action, after 75 minutes, Benito Sanz successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tivadar Sörös in the 79th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Santo Berasko during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Nimród Vére getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Tivadar Sörös managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nimród Vére's supporters rose to their feet, but Tivadar Sörös was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hugo Ferrant's late challenge caught a Nimród Vére's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hugo Ferrant helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Hugo Ferrant hit a great ball. Ede Edelényi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tivadar Sörös could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Benito Sanz made a huge save. When the final whistle sounded Nimród Vére left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Costa Rica.
