Higinio Sansone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 17th minute Milagros Fraga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Higinio Sansone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Aaron Euloxu came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Nina fc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aaron Euloxu couldn't finish the play. Peru's Alonso Berganza quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Stelian Nandriș, made in the 39th minute of the game. When Rubens Prata came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Nina fc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rubens Prata couldn't finish the play. After 46 played minutes Nina fc got a freekick which was hit by Zachary Blochowiak. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Saul Macerio in the 68th minute of play. After 69 minutes Peru's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Aaron Euloxu who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Aaron Euloxu almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Peru's Rolando Noboa did a great save. 75 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Higinio Sansone narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Fulgencio Romildo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Nina fc booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joaquin Prats didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rolando Noboa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Peru eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
