If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 15th minute, Andrzej Andrychowski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jan Puchlik came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Venezuela's Tomas Illescas. But to his dismay, Tomas Illescas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. 33 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Grzegorz Jaktorowo came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomas Illescas's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 36thth minute, Jan Puchlik skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Jan Puchlik made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a free kick in the 47th minute.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Patricio Costa in the 52nd minute of play forced AS Monaco FC's goalkeeper Jan Puchlik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 53 minutes into the game, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jan Puchlik made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Grzegorz Jaktorowo sent off a good shot on target. Waldemar Karaszkiewicz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A throw-in in the 67th minute of the game was made by Kajetan Kostrzewa with Grzegorz Jaktorowo as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Jose Correa fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Jose Correa a yellow card for diving instead. After 71 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Jan Puchlik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 75 minutes into the game, Patricio Costa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Jan Puchlik was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 79th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan Puchlik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Venezuela booed when AS Monaco FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roman Parzysz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roman Parzysz made in the 85th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Andrzej Andrychowski. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 87th minute of the game. One of AS Monaco FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Venezuela:s goal. The referee gave Venezuela a penalty, 89 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Tomas Illescas, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of AS Monaco FC's Jan Puchlik. 7-0.
