TALLERES DE CBA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Costa Rica the free kick. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when TALLERES DE CBA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arturo Isusko didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hugo Tavio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseo Noboa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th match minute, TALLERES DE CBA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Serafino Firme to maneuver through the defense. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Emiliano Weather went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Emiliano Weather was the one to do the kick off.
