Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Axel Tasis took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 7th minute, Lautaro Puig hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 8th minute of the match Reginald Knight sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benito Sanz skillfully saved the ball. In the 13th minute, Raymundo Schneider ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Abel Carballo hit a great ball. After 18th play minutes Stacy Colvin shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Benito Sanz and just under the crossbar into goal. Hugo Ferrant kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Willis Geiger made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Lautaro Puig sent off a good shot on target. Stacy Colvin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 38th minute Raymundo Schneider shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st match minute, Waterbury Rangers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Justin Aranda to maneuver through the defense. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stacy Colvin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Raymundo Schneider fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Waterbury Rangers's protests and gave Raymundo Schneider a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Waterbury Rangers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raymundo Schneider didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Waterbury Rangers's Salvatore Stanford got a free kick in the 47th minute.

The wind increased when Stacy Colvin made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 56 minutes, Lautaro Puig managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Costa Rica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lautaro Puig was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lautaro Puig struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Willis Geiger didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Costa Rica. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. Axel Tasis's late challenge caught a Waterbury Rangers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Axel Tasis helped the player get up and apologised. In the 77thth minute of the game Raymundo Schneider who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 80th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lautaro Puig to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Salvatore Stanford stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Salvatore Stanford tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Waterbury Rangers's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
