New England Minas's attentive Glen Conklin managed to snatch the ball when Milagros Fraga made a throw-in in the 3rd minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Peru's Luz Tejedor got a free kick in the 4th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Milagros Fraga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Milagros Fraga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jeremy Nicholas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match clock showed 7 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Julian Murillo sped through New England Minas's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jeremy Nicholas. Julian Murillo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Jeremy Nicholas made a huge save. With his leg Jeremy Nicholas managed to avoid a goal in the 17thth minute, when Peru's Julian Murillo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Eliseo Mina might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jeremy Nicholas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eliseo Mina ran back to his position shaking his head. Peru's Julian Murillo managed to work through New England Minas's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Julian Murillo dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Luz Tejedor took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Jeremy Nicholas to make any attempt to save it. Jeremy Nicholas stood somewhat misplaced when Julian Murillo came free in front of goal and shot 3-0 to the left of him in the 30 minute. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgardo Silva in the 32nd minute of play. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tony Pacheco in the 34th minute of the match. Eliseo Mina received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jeremy Nicholas came out and tried to block the shot, but Eliseo Mina slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 35th minute. Peru's Eliseo Mina managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Ye Gang Cheng in the 40 minute of the game. With a little luck, New England Minas's Jeremy Nicholas got control of the ball when Julian Murillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 48th minute, Peru's Anthony Alvarado seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Anthony Alvarado the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Peru protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Anthony Alvarado had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 47th minute of the game. One of Peru:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of New England Minas:s goal. Rolando Noboa had in the 49thth minute some difficulties stopping Edgardo Silva's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luz Tejedor stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, New England Minas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ye Gang Cheng to maneuver through the defense. In the 54th minute Eliseo Mina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremy Nicholas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jeremy Nicholas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luz Tejedor, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Julian Murillo kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. When Luz Tejedor came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Peru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luz Tejedor couldn't finish the play. New England Minas made a substitution. Tio Lio replaced Edgardo Silva. New England Minas's Jeremy Nicholas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luz Tejedor in the 79th minute of play. Jeremy Nicholas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luz Tejedor in the 80th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Tio Lio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rolando Noboa was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. 85 minutes into the match, Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tio Lio.
