Paraguay's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Faraday FC the free kick. The supporters of Faraday FC booed when Paraguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xavier Zoido didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Pelle Gabrielsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gustavo Cheche during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 19th match minute, Faraday FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustavo Cheche to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Faraday FC's Arturo Sanson got a free kick in the 24th minute. Jaime Pardo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ildefonso Ikatz having to interfere. Ceferino Formerio who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 31stth minute tested the skills of Jacobo Nores when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A collision led to Paraguay getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Primitivo Escribano hit a great ball. 34 minutes into the match, Paraguay's goalkeeper Jacobo Nores had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pelle Gabrielsson. After having played for 35 minutes, Jaime Pardo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paraguay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jaime Pardo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hector Covarrubias kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ceferino Formerio got free with Jacobo Nores in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When Faraday FC's Ceferino Formerio in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Paraguay's goalie prevented a goal. Jacobo Nores stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ceferino Formerio's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. Ceferino Formerio struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Jacobo Nores didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Faraday FC. In the 67th match minute, Faraday FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arturo Sanson to maneuver through the defense. After 69 played minutes Faraday FC got a freekick which was hit by Gustavo Cheche. After a defensive mix-up in Faraday FC's zone, Jaime Pardo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ildefonso Ikatz came out of the goal and Jaime Pardo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Teofilo Frasquito managed to get in a good position for a shot. Faraday FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Teofilo Frasquito was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jacobo Nores breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Teofilo Frasquito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacobo Nores having to interfere. Jacobo Nores showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hernan Mendez in the 80th minute of the match. In the 81st minute Jaime Pardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ildefonso Ikatz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hector Covarrubias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Ildefonso Ikatz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gustavo Cheche kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Paraguay's Hector Covarrubias got a free kick in the 89th minute. If Hernan Mendez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Faraday FC had won after a very even match.
