Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Celso Tavera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enric Patiño in the 11th minute of play. After 13 minutes Venezuela's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ceferino Igon who took care of the corner kick. At last the ball reached Dráuzio Cavalcante at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Venezuela. 1-1. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enric Patiño, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 21 played minutes Modroñes got a freekick which was hit by Gugu Aguiar. Paz Ceberiche kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Celso Tavera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Babür Mertoğlu got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. 35 minutes into the match, Babür Mertoğlu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Babür Mertoğlu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. After 38th play minutes Babür Mertoğlu shot 4-1, a short shot which went by Jonathan Ferrant and just under the crossbar into goal. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. Venezuela's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Enric Patiño 47 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 5-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Babür Mertoğlu scored 6-1 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 59th minute Babür Mertoğlu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Gugu Aguiar was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 60 minutes had been played. In the 60th match minute, Modroñes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gugu Aguiar to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Rigoberto Mina got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ceferino Igon in the 62nd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Babür Mertoğlu in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Modroñes booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Modroñes getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Babür Mertoğlu hit a great ball. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Celso Tavera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Modroñes's 尹伟城. But to his dismay, 尹伟城 quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-1. In the 77th match minute, Modroñes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enric Patiño to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Babür Mertoğlu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot.
