Hugo Tavio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Berganza, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. When Isidoro Sarmiento came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Panama fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Isidoro Sarmiento couldn't finish the play. TALLERES DE CBA's defense didn't have a chance, in the 10th minute, when Isidoro Sarmiento scored to the left of an out of position Hugo Tavio, making the score, 1-0. Hugo Tavio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Berganza in the 12th minute of the match. If Abraham Alguacil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomas Berganza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Tavio having to interfere. Panama's Abraham Alguacil got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Isidro Espiridion kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. In the 22nd minute of the match Abraham Alguacil sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hugo Tavio skillfully saved the ball. Hugo Tavio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Berganza, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Serafino Firme hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in TALLERES DE CBA's zone, Tomas Berganza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hugo Tavio came out of the goal and Tomas Berganza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to TALLERES DE CBA getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Serafino Firme hit a great ball. Miguel Miralles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Tavio having to interfere. 33 minutes into the match, TALLERES DE CBA's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Berganza came free, but Hugo Tavio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 36 minutes, Tomas Berganza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Berganza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the last second Hugo Tavio throw himself and got hold of the ball when Tomas Berganza in the 37thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. After 42 minutes of play, Panama's Tomas Berganza made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hugo Tavio was left in no man's land by his defense there!
The wind increased when Emiliano Weather made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Abraham Alguacil managed to get in a good position for a shot. Panama's supporters rose to their feet, but Abraham Alguacil was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hugo Tavio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Miguel Miralles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomas Berganza struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Hugo Tavio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Panama. In the 59th minute of the match, Fabricio Godoy got a very nice opportunity to score, but Marcos Cotilla was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Tomas Berganza's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hugo Tavio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. In the 66th minute of the match, Fabricio Godoy got a very nice opportunity to score, but Marcos Cotilla was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Abraham Alguacil received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Hugo Tavio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to TALLERES DE CBA getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Arturo Isusko hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Panama's Tomas Berganza got a free kick in the 76th minute. Fabricio Godoy came free with the goalkeeper in the 78th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Marcos Cotilla could save by the left post. After a rather tough play, TALLERES DE CBA's Isidro Espiridion got a free kick in the 79th minute. In the 82nd minute, Serafino Firme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. TALLERES DE CBA's Hugo Tavio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 86th minute of play. If Tomas Berganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomas Berganza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Panama had played much better football throughout.
