After a rather tough play, Paraguay's Hector Covarrubias got a free kick in the 9th minute. 11 minutes into the match, C. A. Atlanta's goalkeeper Tony Guimarães had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hector Covarrubias. 12 minutes into the game, C. A. Atlanta's Constantino Bertol nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jacobo Nores made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 20 minutes into the game, Teodoro Primo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. C. A. Atlanta's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paraguay the free kick. A hard shot by Alan Campos from long distance, 22 minutes into the match, got Tony Guimarães's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Constantino Bertol in the 24th minute of play. In the 29th minute, Jaime Pardo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tony Guimarães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaime Pardo in the 37th minute of the match. Teodoro Primo scored 0-3 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jacobo Nores, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Constantino Bertol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 48 minutes into the match, Paraguay's goal looked a bit too open when Teodoro Primo came free, but Jacobo Nores reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Teodoro Primo in the 53rd minute of play forced Paraguay's goalkeeper Jacobo Nores to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jacobo Nores didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Constantino Bertol went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Teodoro Primo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Jacobo Nores made a huge save. Thanks to some nice moves Teodoro Primo could shoot a difficult shot in the 64th minute, which Jacobo Nores however easily saved by the left post. Tony Guimarães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaime Pardo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Constantino Bertol received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Jacobo Nores tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 79th minute Teodoro Primo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacobo Nores saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Teodoro Primo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 86th minute, Constantino Bertol ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jacobo Nores was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. A collision led to Paraguay getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Hector Covarrubias hit a great ball. Jacobo Nores showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Besart Toto, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. In the 96th minute, Raul Venegas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. C. A. Atlanta had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
