After 14 minutes of play, Venezuela's Patricio Costa made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vinnie Small was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when Robert Thorne got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robert Thorne, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Paul Mersø who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 29thth minute tested the skills of Jonathan Ferrant when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Martyn Lawson kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Vinnie Small tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paul Mersø's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 41stth minute, Jonathan Ferrant skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The supporters of Clapham Comets F.C. booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Venegas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th match minute, Clapham Comets F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tom Rosický to maneuver through the defense. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Vinnie Small tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paul Mersø was the one to do the kick off. Paul Mersø recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 56 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Paul Mersø came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomas Illescas took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vinnie Small. Vinnie Small dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. 75 minutes into the match, Clapham Comets F.C.'s goalkeeper Vinnie Small had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. The supporters of Clapham Comets F.C. booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomas Illescas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 82nd minute, Robert Thorne made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 89th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Clapham Comets F.C.. Patricio Costa was extremely unlucky when he, in the 90th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 92ndth minute of the game Paul Mersø who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 96th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Correa to maneuver through the defense.
