Artur Bueno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 15th minute of play. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Nicolas Sergipano tried to sneak it across the goal line. Artur Bueno showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. After having played for 39 minutes, Luis Andino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luis Andino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Artur Bueno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nottingham Forrest F.C's Richard Campidelis got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 53rd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Andino to maneuver through the defense. Richard Campidelis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Nicolas Sergipano took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ecuador's Luis Andino got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nottingham Forrest F.C's Artur Bueno proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Nottingham Forrest F.C from getting a goal against them. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Luis Andino advanced and headed the ball into goal, 1-1 in the 69th minute. The Nottingham Forrest F.C fans' excitement grew in the 74th match minute when Nottingham Forrest F.C's Nicolas Sergipano looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Artur Bueno made a huge save. Téo Sampaio kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Artur Bueno made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 80th minute. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 81st minute. Ecuador's Felix Montenegro was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Artur Bueno in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After 83 minutes Nottingham Forrest F.C's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick.
