With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Topsail's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bill Carmichael came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 9th minute of play forced Topsail's goalkeeper Bill Carmichael to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bill Carmichael showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 29th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Bill Carmichael tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 37 minutes into the match, Topsail's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Bill Carmichael reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Dawid Kochowski tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Topsail's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bill Carmichael came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 46thth minute of the game Daniel Zorita who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Topsail's Bill Carmichael was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 47th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Bill Carmichael quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Agustín Saelices hit a great ball. After 52 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Brent Goldsmith who took care of the corner kick. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Dawid Kochowski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Daniel Zorita charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Daniel Zorita the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Daniel Zorita hit a great ball. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dawid Kochowski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luis Andino's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 70thth minute, Bill Carmichael skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 72ndth minute of the game Wendell Conn who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 79th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Sebastián Puig to maneuver through the defense. Brent Goldsmith took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 80th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Julio Vera. Ecuador's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 81st minute of the match Topsail got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Brent Goldsmith ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Topsail's Jeff Beck to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 85th minute of the match Topsail got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. After taking down the ball on Topsail's corner Jeff Beck fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. 90 minutes into the game, Felix Montes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ecuador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Topsail the free kick. Wendell Conn recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dawid Kochowski went, in the 94th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. When the referee blew the final whistle, Topsail could leave the field as winners, despite Ecuador having more of the ball for most of the match.
