After some careless play in the Karadeniz Ereğli S.K. defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Celal Ağca. In the 48th minute, Karadeniz Ereğli S.K.'s Jörgen Odeen dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 57th minute, Karadeniz Ereğli S.K.'s Afşar Oyanalp seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Afşar Oyanalp the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Karadeniz Ereğli S.K. protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Afşar Oyanalp had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch.
