Spectators: 49 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) Vincent Grima started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Filfla United's Stephen Mercieca proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Filfla United from getting a goal against them. After 5 played minutes Filfla United got a freekick which was hit by Mike Schiavone. After 10 minutes, Edmundo Espiga made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Filfla United's Stephen Mercieca tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Sebastian Villa came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Honduras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sebastian Villa couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Filfla United defense, Edmundo Espiga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Stephen Mercieca. The Filfla United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Stephen Mercieca should have stopped the shot. When the match had gone on for 24 minutes, Edmundo Espiga put it in 5-0 from a short distance just to the right of Stephen Mercieca. In the 27th minute of the game Christian Sancho made a throw-in which Moises Tafalla played forward. Stephen Mercieca was a little too slow when Edmundo Espiga got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 28th minute. The score was now 6-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edmundo Espiga in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stephen Mercieca prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Honduras's Christian Sancho managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Brandon Lowell in the 35 minute of the game. Edmundo Espiga did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 7-0 to the left of a surprised Stephen Mercieca 35 minutes into the match. Mike Schiavone was shown his second yellow card after 39 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, Filfla United's Mike Schiavone got a free kick in the 40th minute. In the 44th minute, Edmundo Espiga reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Stephen Mercieca. The goal made the score 8-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 8-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edmundo Espiga to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 52nd minute of play forced Filfla United's goalkeeper Stephen Mercieca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 54 minutes into the game, Honduras's Edmundo Espiga nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Stephen Mercieca made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 9-0. Stephen Mercieca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 57th minute of the match. In the 58th minute, Edmundo Espiga ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Stephen Mercieca was frozen by the shot and now it was 10-0. After some careless play in the Filfla United defense, Ivan Navarro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Stephen Mercieca. The Filfla United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Stephen Mercieca should have stopped the shot. In the 69th match minute, Filfla United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brandon Lowell to maneuver through the defense. Lautaro Navarro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Juan Laganà in the 79th minute. After 82 minutes of play, Honduras's Edmundo Espiga made it 15-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Stephen Mercieca was left in no man's land by his defense there! Filfla United's Stephen Mercieca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 85th minute of play. Edmundo Espiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 89th minute Edmundo Espiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stephen Mercieca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 90th minute, Sebastian Villa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Stephen Mercieca was frozen by the shot and now it was 16-0. Stephen Mercieca stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edmundo Espiga's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Honduras fully deserved thier win.
