The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 3 minutes, Julian Murillo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After 14 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Julian Murillo. 17 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pastor Frantzes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 19 minutes Sajones F.C.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luz Tejedor who took care of the corner kick. In the last second Pastor Frantzes throw himself and got hold of the ball when Julian Murillo in the 28thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isaias Sazon in the 30th minute of the match. Sajones F.C.'s Pastor Frantzes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 32nd minute of play. Isaias Sazon blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rolando Noboa having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isaias Sazon in the 35th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 39 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sajones F.C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luz Tejedor was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest. Peru's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
