Peder Lefland showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. 8 minutes into the match, PALMEIRAS FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Peder Lefland reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 11th minute Lorenzo Insigne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot 13 in the game by Bladi Soto from a close distance when the talented Julio Vera managed to make a qualified save. Ecuador's players were relieved. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Peder Lefland saved PALMEIRAS FC from getting behind. In the 18th minute, João Vítor Nunes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a left leg Peder Lefland saved PALMEIRAS FC from getting behind. 22 minutes in the game, Daniel Zorita dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Peder Lefland made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 26th minute of play. Peder Lefland took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bladi Soto in the 31st minute of the match. In the 41st minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peder Lefland saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, PALMEIRAS FC's Peder Lefland got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Wiliam Goiano hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Peder Lefland was out of position in the 59 minute of play, and Cristian Sancho capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Cristian Sancho really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Peder Lefland tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ecuador's Felix Montenegro was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 64th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Peder Lefland in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Peder Lefland read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. With a little luck, PALMEIRAS FC's Peder Lefland got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bladi Soto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Peder Lefland was out of position in the 78 minute of play, and Cristian Sancho capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Cristian Sancho really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. 81 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Peder Lefland narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 93rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Peder Lefland could save by the left post. A collision led to PALMEIRAS FC getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Wiliam Goiano hit a great ball. Ecuador played a much better game than PALMEIRAS FC and deserved their victory. The PALMEIRAS FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
