Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Mantorp's Bernt Kihlberg in the 5th minute got a chance for a shot 5th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bernt Kihlberg might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bernt Kihlberg ran back to his position shaking his head. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernt Kihlberg in the 15th minute of play. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Sven-Olof Gummeson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. After 23 played minutes Mantorp got a freekick which was hit by Wiktor Östensson. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sven-Olof Gummeson having to interfere. Sven-Olof Gummeson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. 28 minutes into the match, Mantorp's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Sven-Olof Gummeson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 29 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Arias. In the 31st minute, Edvard Palmkvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 35 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sven-Olof Gummeson. Mantorp's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Aaron Lundqvist sent off a good shot on target. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bernt Kihlberg made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Mantorp's Anders Olofsson got a free kick in the 50th minute. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernt Kihlberg in the 53rd minute of play. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Sven-Olof Gummeson made a huge save. Luis Andino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sven-Olof Gummeson having to interfere. Daniel Zoritas short, quick shot in the 59thth minute got Sven-Olof Gummeson to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Sven-Olof Gummeson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sven-Olof Gummeson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 64th minute. Mantorp's Sven-Edvin Henriksson was substituted for Aaron Lundqvist. With a little luck, Mantorp's Sven-Olof Gummeson got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 82nd minute by Cristian Sancho got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. If Sven-Edvin Henriksson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 93 minutes, Billy Fågel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mantorp and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card.
