Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 12th minute, Montel Abeita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 13 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 16th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dantel Abadie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lamento Boliviano's Dantel Abadie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 20th minute of play. Dantel Abadie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 27th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 30th minute of play forced Lamento Boliviano's goalkeeper Dantel Abadie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dantel Abadie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Dantel Abadie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 35th minute of play. 36 minutes had been played when some careless play by Lamento Boliviano's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Felix Montes made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Lamento Boliviano's Dantel Abadie managed to reach the ball for a save. Dantel Abadie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. 40 minutes had been played when some careless play by Lamento Boliviano's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. In the 42ndth minute of the game Luis Andino who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lamento Boliviano's Dantel Abadie was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Lamento Boliviano's Dantel Abadie. Dantel Abadie was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cristian Sanchos short, quick shot in the 55thth minute got Dantel Abadie to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Dantel Abadie made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Alexandro Aballe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Dantel Abadie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 62nd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Andino to maneuver through the defense. In the 64th minute, Tibalt Abadia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 69th minute, Daniel Zorita fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Dantel Abadie, passed just outside the right post. Dantel Abadie made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. In the 72nd minute, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dantel Abadie. Dantel Abadie yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dantel Abadie. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. Dantel Abadie made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 75th minute. With his leg Dantel Abadie managed to avoid a goal in the 77thth minute, when Ecuador's Daniel Zorita fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Felix Montenegro might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dantel Abadie. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felix Montenegro ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Dantel Abadie in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 85 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dantel Abadie narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 88 minutes into the match, Felix Montenegro notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Lamento Boliviano's Dantel Abadie. Dantel Abadie was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
