In the 45th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 46 played minutes Despidida AFC got a freekick which was hit by Marcelo Ixona. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Felix Montenegro hit a great ball. The Despidida AFC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-2.

In the 88thth minute of the game Faustino Gaztea who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 93 played minutes Despidida AFC got a freekick which was hit by Armando Ubarna. Ecuador played a much better game than Despidida AFC and deserved their victory. The Despidida AFC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
