An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 33rd minute of play forced ᗩᔕᒪᗩᑎғᴋ's goalkeeper Güntekin Adılhan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Cubilla in the 56th minute of play. After 60 played minutes, ᗩᔕᒪᗩᑎғᴋ's Ünsal Tezcan shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Julio Vera came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. Güntekin Adılhan made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. After 75 played minutes ᗩᔕᒪᗩᑎғᴋ got a freekick which was hit by Samir Uzhan. After 76 minutes of play, ᗩᔕᒪᗩᑎғᴋ's Luís Cubilla made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Luís Cubilla kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Cubilla in the 85th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. ᗩᔕᒪᗩᑎғᴋ's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team.
