The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. Hıncal Hatırlı might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hıncal Hatırlı ran back to his position shaking his head. Salvador Gisbert made in the 14th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Bayburtspor's Ali Hamza Yüksel. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Hıncal Hatırlı managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bayburtspor's supporters rose to their feet, but Hıncal Hatırlı was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hıncal Hatırlı, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hıncal Hatırlı, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Hıncal Hatırlı made the kick off in the second half. Tomas Illescas hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Bayburtspor had won after a very even match.
