Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 16th minute after Fabiofs's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Fabiofs's goalie and right to Luis Andino. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Fabiofs's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 19 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alexander Hegg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. 22 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Cauan Batista came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Primitivo Andino made in the 24th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Felix Montenegro immediately put the ball in play. 26 minutes into the match, Fabiofs's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Alexander Hegg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fabiofs's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. After a rather tough play, Fabiofs's Daniel Regis got a free kick in the 43rd minute. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Alexander Hegg made a huge save. Alexander Hegg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 64th minute. Fabiofs's Nicasio Perez managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Primitivo Andino in the 68 minute of the game.
