In the 13th minute, Sebastian Villa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Moises Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Said Franković having to interfere. In the 23rd minute, Sebastian Villa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Said Franković was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. After having played for 28 minutes, Sebastian Villa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sebastian Villa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 30th minute, Feliks Bugarin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 35 minutes, Edmundo Espiga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmundo Espiga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sebastian Villa took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Said Franković. Said Franković dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. In the 40th match minute, Honduras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivan Navarro to maneuver through the defense. 45 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Šećer Demirović came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Honduras's zone, Zuhejr Selaković stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lautaro Navarro came out of the goal and Zuhejr Selaković tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-5.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zuhejr Selaković was the one to do the kick off. When Zuhejr Selaković came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Manchester United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zuhejr Selaković couldn't finish the play. Ivan Navarro lost his temper 56 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. When Moises Tafalla came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Honduras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Moises Tafalla couldn't finish the play. Moises Tafalla blasted a shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Said Franković having to make a save. Sebastian Villa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. In the 78th minute Zuhejr Selaković shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Manchester United booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christian Sancho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adis Dugić made in the 83rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Honduras's Luca Espinar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nebojša Krajišnik during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zuhejr Selaković in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lautaro Navarro saved Honduras from getting behind. Feliks Bugarin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lautaro Navarro having to interfere. The Manchester United fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Honduras were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
