The audience thought a goal was coming when Gündüz Dirican got free with Marcos Cotilla in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gündüz Dirican received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Marcos Cotilla came out and tried to block the shot, but Gündüz Dirican slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 15th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Berganza in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cumhur Ulutan saved TRABZONSPOR from getting behind. Tomas Berganza struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Cumhur Ulutan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Panama. Çelebi Yüksel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Marcos Cotilla made a huge save. Alex Cambeiro hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baransel Ortan in the 33rd minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, Tomas Berganza had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cumhur Ulutan. TRABZONSPOR's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomas Berganza was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1.
