Jim Lindberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Jim Lindberg came out of the goal and Felix Montenegro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With his leg Jim Lindberg managed to avoid a goal in the 75thth minute, when Ecuador's Cristian Sancho fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Jim Lindberg made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jim Lindberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
