The audience was convinced that Emanuel Cilio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alvaro Valente was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. In the 53rd minute, Feliciano Baumar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee ignored Club Atletico Lanus's protests and gave Astor Sancho a yellow card for diving instead. Astor Sancho hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. The supporters of Scofield booed when Club Atletico Lanus was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aristides Distiratsu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Club Atletico Lanus's Torcato Modesto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Club Atletico Lanus from getting a goal against them. Torcato Modesto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cayetano Urdin in the 91st minute of play. Although Club Atletico Lanus had been in control for most of the match, Scofield still came away with the win.
