Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Elia Di Ianni having to make a save. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Cristian Sancho hit a great ball. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Scott Bradbury in the 14th minute of the match. In the last second Julio Vera throw himself and got hold of the ball when Scott Bradbury in the 17thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 24th minute. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but El Expreso's Elia Di Ianni did a great save. Edu de Sousa in the 26thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julio Vera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Elia Di Ianni took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the El Expreso defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Elia Di Ianni. The El Expreso fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Elia Di Ianni should have stopped the shot.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edu de Sousa in the 51st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. In the 51stth minute of the game Edu de Sousa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the last second Elia Di Ianni throw himself and got hold of the ball when Cristian Sancho in the 56thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Zhu Quan made a great header on El Expreso's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Elia Di Ianni firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 63rd minute, Daniel Zorita reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Elia Di Ianni. The goal made the score 1-3. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Elia Di Ianni tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 76th minute, Scott Bradbury ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-3. 85 minutes into the match, El Expreso's goalkeeper Elia Di Ianni had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edu de Sousa in the 89th minute of play. In the 90th match minute, El Expreso was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tacettin Öksüzoğlu to maneuver through the defense. El Expreso succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Ecuador had controlled the match.
