Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Lanny Gilmore made the kick off and thus started the match. Aaron Smallwood showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Berganza in the 3rd minute of the match. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lanny Gilmore in the 7th minute of play. In the 7th minute, Lanny Gilmore left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Santos FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 14th minute of the match, Lanny Gilmore got a very nice opportunity to score, but Marcos Cotilla was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lanny Gilmore in the 18th minute of play. After 23 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Miguel Miralles. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tyron Velasquez got free with Marcos Cotilla in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tomas Berganza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Aaron Smallwood tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Tomas Berganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tyron Velasquez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Marcos Cotilla made a huge save. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Berganza to make the kick off. In the 50th match minute, Santos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lanny Gilmore to maneuver through the defense. 52 minutes into the match, Santos FC's goalkeeper Aaron Smallwood had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Isidoro Sarmiento. Dominic Albright hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. After 56 played minutes Santos FC got a freekick which was hit by Lanny Gilmore. In the 60th minute, Mike Richardson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Santos FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. When the match clock showed 62 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Tyron Velasquez sped through Panama's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Marcos Cotilla. The supporters of Panama booed when Santos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cesar Small didn't get a good kick on the ball. Isidoro Sarmiento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aaron Smallwood having to interfere. A very nice done corner allowed Tory Weeks to score against Marcos Cotilla in Panama's goal. 5-0 after 77 minutes. Marcos Cotilla didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mike Richardson went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. Jose Carita made in the 84th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Santos FC's Terence Nicholas. In the 86th minute, Lanny Gilmore ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcos Cotilla was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. Abraham Alguacil charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Abraham Alguacil the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Abraham Alguacil hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. 94 minutes into the match, Lanny Gilmore had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Panama's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lanny Gilmore was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 8-0. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Santos FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Panama had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
