In the 2nd minute of the match, Scott Bradbury tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jonathan Ferrant saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When Edu de Sousa came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the El Expreso fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edu de Sousa couldn't finish the play. With an all-out effort, El Expreso's Jonathan Ferrant threw himself towards the right post 11 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Scott Bradbury, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Cosimo Haye de la hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Scott Bradbury, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 18 played minutes El Expreso got a freekick which was hit by Cosimo Haye de la. Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Scott Bradbury received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jonathan Ferrant came out and tried to block the shot, but Scott Bradbury slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 23rd minute. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpected shot in the 27th minute by Mikhail Horoshevskiy got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The supporters of Venezuela booed when El Expreso was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ilie Negrescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 34 minutes, Patricio Costa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the El Expreso players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Patricio Costa hit a great ball. Edu de Sousas short, quick shot in the 37thth minute got Jonathan Ferrant to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 38th minute El Expreso were awarded a corner. Zhu Quan went to the cornerflag to take it. Zhu Quan made a great header on El Expreso's corner, it was just that Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 43rd minute, Zhu Quan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cosimo Haye de la got a throw-in 44 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Mikhail Horoshevskiy. 47 minutes into the game, Camilo Gaos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave El Expreso the free kick. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Camilo Gaos got a free kick in the 47th minute. Mikhail Horoshevskiy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 49th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Patricio Costa struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Elia Di Ianni didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Scott Bradbury, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. With his leg Elia Di Ianni managed to avoid a goal in the 61stth minute, when Venezuela's Tomas Illescas fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 63 minutes into the match, Edu de Sousa notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Jose Correa was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 68 minutes had been played. After 68 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. After having played for 71 minutes, Edu de Sousa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. El Expreso's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edu de Sousa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Scott Bradbury managed to get in a good position for a shot. El Expreso's supporters rose to their feet, but Scott Bradbury was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 84th minute, Tomas Illescas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Venezuela fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Patricio Costa got his second yellow card in the match during the 88th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. 94 minutes into the match, Scott Bradbury notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Edu de Sousa came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the El Expreso fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edu de Sousa couldn't finish the play. There was no doubt that El Expreso were the better team. El Expreso's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
