The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Måns Sandberg came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Norrlands Athen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Måns Sandberg couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olen Homo in the 18th minute of play forced Norrlands Athen's goalkeeper Safet Hands to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Måns Sandberg dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jere Noronen, 3-0. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Måns Sandberg took a quick shot and it went in 4-0 without a chance for Jere Noronen to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of Norrlands Athen booed when Karhulan Veikot was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reijo Ilola didn't get a good kick on the ball. Måns Sandberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 28th minute, Roni Vihermäki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 34th minute, Norrlands Athen's Måns Sandberg dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 5-0. In the 38th minute Juan Lebron shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jere Noronen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 39 minutes into the game, Kaarle Tukio threw the ball into play from the sideline. Norrlands Athen's Jacinto da Silveira quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Juan Lebron was extremely unlucky when he, in the 44th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 46th minute, Norrlands Athen's Måns Sandberg ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jere Noronen. Jere Noronen yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 7-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Juan Lebron made the kick off in the second half. Jere Noronen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Måns Sandberg in the 54th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Måns Sandberg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jere Noronen was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. After some careless play in the Karhulan Veikot defense, Måns Sandberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jere Noronen. The Karhulan Veikot fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jere Noronen should have stopped the shot. Måns Sandberg took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jere Noronen. Jere Noronen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 10-0. Calle Bergfelt struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Jere Noronen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Norrlands Athen. 69 minutes into the game, Norrlands Athen's Filcho Slivkov nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jere Noronen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 11-0. In the 71st minute, Miko Karjala hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 72nd minute, Gilbert Hermansson made a precise shot to the right of Jere Noronen. Karhulan Veikot's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 12-0. In the 75th minute, Gilbert Hermansson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kaarle Tukio hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Juan Lebron took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jere Noronen. Jere Noronen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 13-0. Gilbert Hermansson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 87th minute, Juan Lebron made a precise shot to the right of Jere Noronen. Karhulan Veikot's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 14-0. When Norrlands Athen's Juan Lebron in the 91st minute got a chance for a shot 91st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Karhulan Veikot's goalie prevented a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Olen Homo during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Olen Homo kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Juan Lebron recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Norrlands Athen's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
