The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Stephan Wielens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gabríel Vassaras in the 11th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the match, Vc Brye's goal looked a bit too open when Oskar Vesterberg came free, but Henri-Patrick De Mare reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th minute Gabríel Vassaras shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stephan Wielens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Shi Yao Zhen got free with Henri-Patrick De Mare in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind De Horsterboeren SV's goalkeeper Stephan Wielens, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Vieri in the 21st minute of play forced De Horsterboeren SV's goalkeeper Stephan Wielens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, Gabríel Vassaras put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Stephan Wielens. Vc Brye's Henri-Patrick De Mare proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Vc Brye from getting a goal against them. Henri-Patrick De Mare yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. De Horsterboeren SV's Stephan Wielens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Vieri in the 38th minute of play. Gabríel Vassaras took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Stephan Wielens. Stephan Wielens dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3.

The wind increased when Shi Yao Zhen made the kick off in the second half. Stephan Wielens made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Gabríel Vassaras sent off a good shot on target. In the 59th minute Shi Yao Zhen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henri-Patrick De Mare saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alessandro Barchiesi hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Cristian Vieri could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Stephan Wielens made a huge save. De Horsterboeren SV's Stephan Wielens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabríel Vassaras in the 65th minute of play. De Horsterboeren SV's Stephan Wielens proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save De Horsterboeren SV from getting a goal against them. Vc Brye's Geoffry Lefevre was substituted for Gabríel Vassaras. A collision led to Vc Brye getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Gabríel Vassaras hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geoffry Lefevre in the 84th minute of play forced De Horsterboeren SV's goalkeeper Stephan Wielens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 86 minutes into the game, De Horsterboeren SV's Edward Wijk nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Henri-Patrick De Mare made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-4. Geoffry Lefevre received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Stephan Wielens came out and tried to block the shot, but Geoffry Lefevre slotted it home off the left post making it 2-5 in the 94th minute.
