The Barrenta SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Barrenta SC's zone, Emilio Eguen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edgar Trigo came out of the goal and Emilio Eguen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Melchor Eate was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 48 minutes into the match. Paulo Napier went to the wrong direction when Hugo Gerber was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Club Sports Pergamino's Paulo Napier proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Club Sports Pergamino from getting a goal against them. Barrenta SC played a much better game than Club Sports Pergamino and deserved their victory. The Club Sports Pergamino players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
