But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jenson Smith couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Andrey Denisov got free with Marco Day in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Andrey Denisov scored 1-0 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marco Day, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Курск ФК getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Andrey Denisov hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Monty Rogers in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Frutos Mallo saved Курск ФК from getting behind. Frutos Mallo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacob May in the 20th minute of the match. Cassius Byrne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frutos Mallo having to interfere. Andrey Denisov scored 2-0 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marco Day, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 30 minutes, Edward Mcdonald managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. USA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edward Mcdonald was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The throw-in from Diego Bradley in the 36th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Курск ФК's Taras Baranov. In the 37th minute Cassius Byrne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frutos Mallo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Курск ФК's Frutos Mallo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Monty Rogers in the 40th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Frutos Mallo was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Monty Rogers showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 53 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cassius Byrne in the 57th minute of play forced Курск ФК's goalkeeper Frutos Mallo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 62nd minute Jenson Smith shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frutos Mallo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Frutos Mallo made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Cassius Byrne sent off a good shot on target. Frutos Mallo made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Jacob May sent off a good shot on target. When the match had gone on for 79 minutes, Monty Rogers put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Frutos Mallo. USA's Khalid Parry was substituted for Monty Rogers. In the 86th minute, Andrey Denisov ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marco Day was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. Курск ФК's Boris Basalaev was substituted for Andrey Denisov. The audience was convinced that Boris Basalaev's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marco Day was relentless in the 95th minute of the game.
