If Joseph Gayoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Juaneizu Merida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luca Zorita in the 4th minute of play. 8 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Grabiel Escorcia. In the 13th minute Grabiel Escorcia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Macos Graciani got a throw-in 15 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Luca Zorita. After a rather tough play, Nacional's Marta Minuhin got a free kick in the 20th minute. Nacional's Juaneizu Merida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 22nd minute of play. Juaneizu Merida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luca Zorita in the 25th minute of play. In the 26th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. Nacional's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 27thth minute of the game Alberto Tafalla who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Nacional's Juaneizu Merida was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match clock showed 27 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Alberto Tafalla sped through Nacional's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Juaneizu Merida. Juaneizu Merida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 30th minute of play. Juaneizu Merida showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 33rd minute of the match. 34 minutes into the match, Nacional's Grabiel Escorcia sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dante Lacasa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Juaneizu Merida showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. In the 40th match minute, Nacional was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jony Maidana to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Joel Gaona managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Joel Gaona was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Juaneizu Merida breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Marta Minuhin fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nacional's protests and gave Marta Minuhin a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Nacional getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Marta Minuhin hit a great ball. In the 44th minute, Joel Gaona sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Nacional's Juaneizu Merida didn't even have to move.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Gaona made a kick off. In the 57th minute Xu Sha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nacional's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Xu Sha in the 58th minute. Nacional's Xu Sha was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Dante Lacasa in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After having played for 59 minutes, Joseph Gayoso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nacional's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joseph Gayoso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Joel Gaona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nacional's Walme Yurre was substituted for Mendiko Bueres. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Luca Zorita hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Grabiel Escorcia in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dante Lacasa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luca Zorita in the 71st minute of play forced Nacional's goalkeeper Juaneizu Merida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 75th minute, Lautaro Mancebo made a precise shot to the right of Juaneizu Merida. Nacional's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. 86 minutes into the game, Joel Gaona recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Juaneizu Merida. Joel Gaona showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joseph Gayoso in the 93rd minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95th minute Nacional were awarded a corner. Xu Sha went to the cornerflag to take it. Mexico's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
