An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 10th minute of play forced F.C. Paços de Ferreira's goalkeeper Miguel Poças to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 23 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when José Bomba came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by José Bomba in the 27th minute. José Bomba's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Primitivo Andino hit a great ball. José Bomba might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. José Bomba ran back to his position shaking his head. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Bomba in the 36th minute of play. 38 minutes into the match, F.C. Paços de Ferreira's José Bomba sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 38 minutes into the game, José Bomba recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Julio Vera. José Bomba showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Julio Vera was a little too slow when José Bomba got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 41st minute. The score was now 2-0. Nicolae Hoisie kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. In the 45th minute, Nicolae Hoisie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Bomba in the 52nd minute of play. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 61 minutes of play, F.C. Paços de Ferreira's José Bomba made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! José Bomba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Bomba in the 66th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Miguel Poças made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Miguel Poças in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Daniel Zorita scored 3-1 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Miguel Poças, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. F.C. Paços de Ferreira's Luka Modrić was substituted for Inácio Secco. In the 87th minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Miguel Poças was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. The F.C. Paços de Ferreira support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
