Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Mexico's Joel Gaona started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. José Augusto Hoffmann could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. Tomé Soveral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 14th minute, Joel Gaona ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tomé Soveral was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Tomé Soveral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Tomé Soveral came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo. But to his dismay, Lautaro Mancebo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 30 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by José Augusto Hoffmann. A hard shot 31 in the game by José Augusto Hoffmann from a close distance when the talented Dante Lacasa managed to make a qualified save. Mexico's players were relieved. When Porfírio Chagas fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored BENFICA UNITED's protests and gave Porfírio Chagas a yellow card for diving instead. Porfírio Chagas kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Alberto Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for José Augusto Hoffmann to strike the kick off in the second half. Tomé Soveral made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 51st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Lautaro Mancebo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Lautaro Mancebo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tomé Soveral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Gaona was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 64 minutes into the match, Douglas Costa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dante Lacasa. Mexico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Douglas Costa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Luca Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Augusto Hoffmann in the 69th minute of the match. After 74 minutes BENFICA UNITED's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. Mexico's Joel Gaona was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Tomé Soveral in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Douglas Costa in the 82nd minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. BENFICA UNITED's Tomé Soveral proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save BENFICA UNITED from getting a goal against them. Lautaro Mancebo's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Tomé Soveral firmly grabbed it by the left post.
