An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 41st minute of play forced SWARS's goalkeeper Vidar Browald to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A well-hit corner resulted in Juan Sebastián Puig heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Vidar Browald made a huge save. The supporters of SWARS booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Primitivo Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than SWARS.
