If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 33 minutes into the match, Vilma Palma's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Costa came free, but Denis Dubardo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Vilma Palma booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gaos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Saverio Hori might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Saverio Hori ran back to his position shaking his head. Venezuela played a much better game than Vilma Palma and deserved their victory. The Vilma Palma players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
