Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Kazimierz Madej started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Marcos Cotilla didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Erik Kulaš went, in the 5th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Toninho Cardozo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isidoro Sarmiento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 12 played minutes CRICIÚMA E.C. got a freekick which was hit by Enéas da Cunha. A collision led to CRICIÚMA E.C. getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Karol Smolarek hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Panama's Miguel Miralles got a free kick in the 18th minute. 19 minutes in the game, Kazimierz Madej fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Marcos Cotilla having to interfere. Dylan Sarmiento kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. 39 minutes into the match, CRICIÚMA E.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Abraham Alguacil came free, but Toninho Cardozo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kazimierz Madej struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Marcos Cotilla didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CRICIÚMA E.C.. 46 minutes into the match, Abraham Alguacil notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of CRICIÚMA E.C.'s Toninho Cardozo. Toninho Cardozo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

CRICIÚMA E.C.'s Simão Sanches was substituted for Paolo Puyol. The wind increased when Tomas Berganza made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xandão Crouch in the 57th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 60 minutes into the match, CRICIÚMA E.C.'s goalkeeper Toninho Cardozo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Berganza. In the 61st minute Panama were awarded a corner. Abraham Alguacil went to the cornerflag to take it. Panama's Abraham Alguacil was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Toninho Cardozo in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xandão Crouch in the 63rd minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Xandão Crouch came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kazimierz Madej's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcos Cotilla read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. In the 70th match minute, CRICIÚMA E.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kazimierz Madej to maneuver through the defense. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaime Cordeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 76th minute Tomas Berganza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Toninho Cardozo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 80 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Xandão Crouch came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jaime Cordeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcos Cotilla having to interfere. In the 84th match minute, CRICIÚMA E.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xandão Crouch to maneuver through the defense. Diguinho do Nascimento kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. A collision led to CRICIÚMA E.C. getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Diguinho do Nascimento hit a great ball. After having played for 88 minutes, Abraham Alguacil managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abraham Alguacil was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 90th minute, Xandão Crouch left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The CRICIÚMA E.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xandão Crouch in the 93rd minute of play. In the 97th minute, Alex Cambeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Panama's zone, Kazimierz Madej stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcos Cotilla came out of the goal and Kazimierz Madej tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Panama's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
