Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Salta Futbol Club's Fabian Obano started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Sancho to maneuver through the defense. 3 minutes into the match, Salta Futbol Club's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Jimeno Teodor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jimeno Teodor having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Salta Futbol Club's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jimeno Teodor came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Fabian Obano tried to sneak it across the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fabian Obano. 27 minutes into the game, Fabian Obano recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Julio Vera. Fabian Obano showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Fabian Obano sent off a good shot on target. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jimeno Teodor. Jimeno Teodor dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Stéphane Le Thiec fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute of the match Rodolfo Vergílio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera skillfully saved the ball. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jimeno Teodor. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 60th minute, which Jimeno Teodor however easily saved by the left post. Jimeno Teodor didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 60th minute, which inside left pole to 1-2. 63 minutes into the game, Fabian Obano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 67th minute, Fabian Obano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Jimeno Teodor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Salta Futbol Club's Jimeno Teodor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 70th minute of play. Juan Sebastián Puig kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Antonio Arias kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. In the 80th minute of the match Rodolfo Vergílio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera skillfully saved the ball. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 85th minute Fabian Obano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabian Obano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 90 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jimeno Teodor.
