Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) La Guardia Imperial's Carlos Teves started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bernardo Laurin charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bernardo Laurin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bernardo Laurin hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. La Guardia Imperial's Atilano Esiquio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 10th minute of play. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Carlos Teves kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carlos Teves in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. In the 26th minute La Guardia Imperial were awarded a corner. Marcial Abaunza went to the cornerflag to take it. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Teves, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. The attack was good, but when Carlos Teves in the 32nd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. 34 minutes into the game, Carlos Teves cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 36th minute, Tomás Carlovich left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The La Guardia Imperial fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. In the 39th minute, Carlos Teves made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Carlos Teves blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. After having played for 44 minutes, Carlos Teves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. La Guardia Imperial's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Teves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Teves in the 54th minute of play. A hard shot 58 in the game by Daniel Zorita from a close distance when the talented Atilano Esiquio managed to make a qualified save. La Guardia Imperial's players were relieved. Atilano Esiquio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 60th minute. 61 minutes had been played when some careless play by La Guardia Imperial's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Atilano Esiquio quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Carlos Teves blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. 65 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Teves came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Atilano Esiquio made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Carlos Teves's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Atilano Esiquio having to interfere. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Atilano Esiquio came out and tried to block the shot, but Cristian Sancho slotted it home off the left post making it 4-1 in the 77th minute. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aristides Austin in the 84th minute of the match. After 87 minutes of play La Guardia Imperial's Bernardo Laurin was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In a very dangerous position, a player in La Guardia Imperial fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 86th minute. Penalty! In the 89th minute there was a penalty for Ecuador. Daniel Zorita stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Atilano Esiquio. 4-2. In the 94th minute of the game Camilo Gisbert made a throw-in which Luis Andino played forward. Severino Romano hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match.
