A collision led to Frösö IF getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Martin Cauteruccio hit a great ball. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Richard Mikaelsson having to interfere. Frösö IF's Richard Mikaelsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 38th minute of play. Richard Mikaelsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

56 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Michael Segarra came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 57th minute, which Richard Mikaelsson however easily saved by the left post. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Primitivo Andino got a free kick in the 59th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Michael Segarra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Michael Segarra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Daniel Zorita kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Felix Montenegro made in the 66th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Frösö IF's Jan-Åke Beckeman. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michael Segarra in the 68th minute of play. Per-Erik Ek kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Luis Andino slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Richard Mikaelsson. That made the score 1-2 after 70 minutes of play. After 72 minutes, Jan-Åke Beckeman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Frösö IF and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martin Cauteruccio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Richard Mikaelsson having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Frösö IF's Martin Cauteruccio got a free kick in the 93rd minute. 95 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Frösö IF's Richard Mikaelsson. Richard Mikaelsson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Frösö IF throughout the match.
