Fuerzas Armadas's Oro Montes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 24th minute of play. If Facundo Cadaval had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 35 minutes into the game, Eufrasio Aranzubia cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Dante Lacasa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Mexico booed when Fuerzas Armadas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gustavo Buendia didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 45 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Xerardo Amer. Oro Montes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 46th minute of the match.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Xerardo Amer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 59th minute of play forced Fuerzas Armadas's goalkeeper Oro Montes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Lorenzo Cazalla fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mexico's protests and gave Lorenzo Cazalla a yellow card for diving instead. Lorenzo Cazalla hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Joel Gaona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Oro Montes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alberto Tafalla during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Oro Montes in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 85 played minutes Fuerzas Armadas got a freekick which was hit by Elvio Rivas. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Quinto Nobo, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. In the 89th minute, Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-6. Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Fuerzas Armadas defense, Lautaro Mancebo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Oro Montes. The Fuerzas Armadas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Oro Montes should have stopped the shot.
