Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 11 minutes into the match, Águilas Poblanas's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Matias Eder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Matias Eder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 13th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Matias Eder took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 18th minute, Gustavo Chabier got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 22 minutes into the match, Luis Andino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Matias Eder. Águilas Poblanas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luis Andino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 25 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Matias Eder made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. 28 minutes into the match, Águilas Poblanas's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Matias Eder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matias Eder having to interfere. When the match clock showed 35 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Cristian Sancho sped through Águilas Poblanas's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Matias Eder.

The wind increased when Justo Sagrario made the kick off in the second half. After 50 played minutes Águilas Poblanas got a freekick which was hit by Justo Sagrario. 51 minutes into the match, Águilas Poblanas's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Matias Eder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cayetano Remir hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. 57 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Matias Eder. In the 64th minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Matias Eder was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 65th minute, Águilas Poblanas's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Cristian Sancho fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a free kick in the 69th minute. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 75th minute of play forced Águilas Poblanas's goalkeeper Matias Eder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matias Eder saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Agustín Saelices received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Matias Eder came out and tried to block the shot, but Agustín Saelices slotted it home off the left post making it 0-6 in the 78th minute. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Águilas Poblanas throughout the match.
