In the 7th minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. René Higuita was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, David Modesto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. After 21 played minutes Seleção de Macau got a freekick which was hit by Mateus Carvalhal. 22 minutes into the match, Luis Andino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of René Higuita. Seleção de Macau's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luis Andino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Camilo Gisbert hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Seleção de Macau's Octávio Valentim got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Seleção de Macau's René Higuita got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Antonio Arias hit a great ball. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Modesto, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ecuador were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Seleção de Macau to leave the ground with a draw.
